The Modernist route allows you to discover the mark Modernism left on Sitges thanks to the initiatives of Santiago Rusiñol i Prats (Barcelona 1861 - Aranjuez 1931), one of the maximum representatives of Catalan modernism and the fortunes of the so-called "Americanos" (Sitgetans who returned home after getting rich in the Spanish colonies and who beautified the towns streets with their modernist-style homes). The route begins at the train station, symbol of the new era and the country’s modernity. It continues around different streets in the town center and ends at the Cau Ferrat Museum. The Sitges Tourist Information Offices have explanatory brochures.
